Make sure these documents are prepared and ready to upload when prompted.

I certify I have met the UBC Sauder TA Requirements, along with any CUPE 2278, University, or Study Permit Requirements:

    1. I understand that I am expected to write my application without the aid of Machine Learning chatbots (ex. ChatGPT) and that applications found to have violated this requirement will be flagged.

    2. I am a full-time student registered in a Diploma, Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program and I will not be holding a faculty position (e.g., sessional lecturer). Alternatively, I am a recent UBC graduate who has completed my degree requirements within eight (8) months of the TA appointment I am applying for, and if I am a PhD graduate, I am not intending to have a post-doc appointment.

    3. I am not on financial hold, nor on leave.

    4. I am a Canadian Citizen or PR OR I hold an active study/work permit for the entirety of the TA appointment I am applying for (or will be applying for an extension of my permit, if expiring before the TA appointment ends).

    5. I will attend the New Student Employees Orientation if I am a first-time TA. I will do job-specific training with my supervisor as required.

    6. I will complete the mandatory UBC training online courses (accessible through
      https://wpl.ubc.ca/browse/srs/programs/wpl-srs-ucglrd) if I am a first-time UBC employee.

    7. I understand and will comply with all WorkSafeBC, Provincial, University and Departmental safety regulations.

    8. I understand that this is an application for employment, and I will be held to employee standards.

    9. I understand that I cannot exceed 192 hours of TAships in one term (1 TA FTE) across all UBC departments without supervisor and union permission.
I understand that I may not exceed 1 full-time equivalent position (40 hours per week) at UBC, regardless of department or unit.

    10. I recognize that TAships are a significant time commitment, and that I can balance my academic work with TA responsibilities.

    11. I understand that applications received before July 25, 2025 at 11:59 pm PST get priority. Submissions from July 26, 2025 and onwards will be considered on an as-needed-basis to fill all TA positions.
